Hume Dental Group
At Hume Dental Group, your comfort and peace of mind are our top priorities. To help you feel confident and prepared for your visit, we’ve outlined some helpful information below to answer common questions before your appointment.
Your First Appointment at Hume Dental Group
At Hume Dental Group, we want your first visit to feel comfortable, informative, and completely personalised. From the moment you arrive, our friendly team guides you through every step so you know exactly what to expect.
What Happens at Your First Visit?
1. New Patient Form
You’ll be provided with a New Patient Form upon arrival. This helps us understand your medical history, dental concerns, and treatment goals so we can tailor your care.
2. Comprehensive Examination
Your dentist will perform a full examination of your teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues. To ensure a complete assessment:
Digital X-rays are taken as required
A 3D CBCT scan may be recommended for complex cases
Clinical photos may be taken to assist with diagnosis and planning
3. Clear Explanations & Treatment Options
After the examination, we take the time to explain all findings in simple, clear language. We outline every suitable treatment option—whether it’s a routine clean, restorative work, implants, or orthodontics—so you fully understand your choices.
4. Transparent Fees
The fees and type of X-rays needed vary depending on the appointment type, such as:
Full general check-up
Implant consultation
Orthodontic consultation
Cosmetic consultation
We always ensure you know all costs upfront.
Detailed Treatment Plans for Complex Cases
For more complicated treatments, we prepare a detailed written treatment plan and usually send it to you via email after your appointment. If further explanation is needed, we book a second consultation at no additional charge.
This follow-up visit allows for an in-depth discussion of:
Treatment stages
Timeline
Costs
Alternatives
Expected outcomes
Our goal is for you to feel informed, confident, and fully supported before beginning any treatment.
